The Story

"The users take a journey of discovery to find a place to sleep in the hotel room. What then becomes apparent is that there are many places to sleep and the user then finds themselves waking up in different places during the times stayed"

Seeko'o Hotel

One of the first pieces of newly generating area to the Bordeaux waterfront.

For many years the Bordeaux waterfront on the north of the city has been in a slump. But now, a redevelopement plan has been actioned and the Seeko’o Hotel is one of the first new added features of the developement. The building of this hotel will pull in a higher class to the area thus drawing in wealth and a better economic future for the area.

Consistant of a typical but stlyish hotel layout, its added features of interior design and sloping walls creating a different to the generic hotel. Atelier King Kong architects have come up with an alternative to the white rendered box and they have pushed and pulled points to create a 2300 msq edgy new hotel.

From the outside it looks like an alien object drawing in fascination. The interior is designed well around a fairly typical internal floor to floor layout. There are plenty of facilities like a bar, resturant, luxury spa and some conference rooms, but those are minor compared to the penthouses available, taking full advantage of the river views.

Overall the hotel captures a generic stay but interior and spacial features create the difference of space.

Sleeping Out

The first piece to the research stage to gain the experience of a hotel through a look at the journey taken.

The first and main journey which is taken in a hotel is the approach from the entrance canopy all the way to the room.

The journey is explained using a realistic section from left to right and also shows the vertical aswell as the horizontal one

An extremely detailed look at what the contents of the hotel room is and each items location.

Simplifed equation for why some items are placed in the hotel room and why they maybe specific to a more business orientated hotel such as The Park Inn Hotel, Milton Keynes
